With most superheroes dispersed on all forms of intergalactic and multiversal missions the market for superhuman defense is wide open. This assemblage of sometimes corrupt but persuadable mercenaries is now the most reliable outfit for the task at hand. But can they stick it out together or will the appearing cracks split them open before the end?

Thunderbolts* sees a ragtag group of underdog superheroes who are forced to save the world from a new bioengineered hero-turned-villain. The movie is loaded with great humor and action similar to Deadpool, but with a deeper plot about trauma and overcoming struggles. The film also does a great job at poking fun at our new group of heroes and just how un-Avengers they are. If you want a great laugh, epic action, and fantastic performances (especially from Florence Pugh), be sure to watch Thunderbolts*. PS: Yes, the asterisk has a big meaning…but you’ll have to watch to find out what it is.

On the surface, Thunderbolts* is a rip-roaring good time that employs all the strong action, solid comedy, and charming performances audiences have come to expect from the MCU. However, the film's exploration of depression is surprisingly nuanced, with each member of the cast getting the depth afforded to them by one of the best scripts in the entire franchise. That element elevates the entire film and quietly turns Marvel's version of the Suicide Squad into a highlight from the studio.
